"Prince's Purple Rein" By Artist JJ Burner

"Prince's Purple Rein"Completed on Aug. 6th 2016. Acrylic paint on boxed canvas. I painted this piece for a Live painting event called Girard Presents: Emerging Artist at Uptown Art Fair at Calhoun Square. I enjoyed painting in public, having conversations with people about the late Great Prince. I heard so many stories about him and the way he touched peoples lives. It was great seeing all the people asking to pose and take pictures with this painting. I was honored people enjoyed the work and his presence will be truly missed here in Minnesota and world wide. This piece has many textures and colors of purple that I love. The best part to me on this piece is the white glow on the edge of him to represent his Light (glow). This painting is not available for sale at this time but, you are able to view it. Current Location is The Purple Room Studio Located 322 N. First Ave MPLS MN 55401 suite #301. Thank you For the support I appreciate everyone for it. "Drowning In The Bottle" By Artist JJ Burner of Zealous Paintings

Painting created, completed, and signed by Artist JJ Burner in June of 2016. This painting was inspired by an event that had taken place in my life. I was told I was a controlling person because I wanted someone close to me to quit their drinking. So with the frustration I had felt I created a painting of what I could see. I saw someone I loved and cared for drowning in alcohol, with no way out. The seal of the bottle is still intact. That was the alcohol's control, the addiction. Hearing constant excuses of almost and that was not my intent, I had the hand barely out of the alcohol reaching out as if  to represent an"Almost" moment. The label on the alcohol is a symbol most recognize. I wanted to portray that as the alcohol saying "Fuck You"to the drinker and the loved ones of the drinker. In short that is where this piece came from why I created it. The important message behind this piece for me was no matter what I will not tolerate a person to drink and drive or be a witness to their destruction. The original has been sold. I do have 8x10 gloss prints available for only $5 Click here to email for purchase. Paypal Accepted. USPS for delivery.
